Data Scientist â€“ Job description
As part of the Innovation
team for one of our large non-profit clients, we are looking to augment our
data sciences team , with an experienced Data Scientist. This is someone who
use existing datasets to train, test & execute predictive models and use
advanced analytics to help solve medium complexity business problems. The data
scientist is expected to use advanced techniques that integrate traditional and
non-traditional datasets to build analytical solutions. This data scientist
will apply tools and techniques in predictive analytics, machine learning, and
optimization techniques to generate insights, discover patterns and help
optimize business processes /functions.
Mandatory skills :
- Strong expertise in â€˜Râ€ –
at least 3 years
- Solid knowledge in statistics
- Hands-on experience building
predictive models using machine learning and AI.
- Utilize advanced statistical
techniques to create high performing predictive models and creative
analyses to address business objectives and client needs. Tests new
statistical analysis methods, software and data sources for continual
improvement of quantitative solutions.

machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes,
SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
- Strong algorithmic problem solving
and software development skills (R, Python, or similar)
- Demonstrated capability to develop
proof-of-concept prototypes for experimenting with novel algorithms
- Demonstrated experience and accomplishments in
the use of data mining, machine learning, and predictive analytics to
address real-life problems.
- Past experience in analyzing large scale data and
